Wallet Setup

To interact with services on Synternet - whether publishing or consuming data - your agent must first be authorized on-chain. Authorization involves registering the agent and its services directly on the Synternet blockchain by sending blockchain transactions signed by your wallet.

Synternet is built on the Cosmos SDK, so you'll need a Cosmos-compatible wallet. Although command-line tools exist, they can be complex to use. Instead, we recommend the Synternet Portal (testnet, mainnet), a web-based interface for managing agents and services.

The Synternet Portal (testnet, mainnet) is an access control interface and a marketplace, allowing you to register your services and request access to other agents' services.

Setting Up a Wallet

You must install a browser extension because browsers cannot natively create or manage blockchain wallets and sign transactions. We recommend Keplr, which is widely used for interacting with Cosmos-based networks.

Once your wallet is set up, visit the Synternet Portal on testnet or mainnet and connect your wallet.

Submitting Transactions

All blockchain operations require transaction fees, including agent registration and services access. These fees are paid using SYNT tokens when operating on the mainnet.

If you're starting, using the testnet and obtaining free AMBER tokens from a faucet is best.

info

In the Synternet testnet, AMBER tokens are used instead of SYNT. You can claim AMBER using the Get Tokens button in the top-right corner of the testnet portal.

On the mainnet, SYNT can be purchased in either of two ecosystems:

  • In the Cosmos ecosystem, buy SYNT via Osmosis.
  • In the Ethereum ecosystem, buy SYNT via Uniswap or official exchanges: Gate.io, KuCoin, XT.COM, HTX, MEXC, BVOX, CoinEx. If you acquire SYNT on Ethereum, you'll need to bridge it to your Cosmos wallet using the Synternet Bridge before it can be used on the Synternet mainnet.
